Eugene Atget (1857-1927) was a French photographer who documented the architecture and street scenes of Paris.
When I saw an exhibition of his work in Rotterdam I immediately decided to rephotograph Atget locations to capture changes of Paris in the last 100 years. For five weeks I searched the streets of Paris with the pictures of Atget in my hand.
I discovered that most places have adapted to modern times, some have hardly changed and others disappeared, but often showed traces of the past.
